A street festival and fundraiser for the New Orleans Art District Association. The festival that will bring together New Orleans’ creative industries and social media resources for a day long festival that will entertain thousands of attendees.

Who:	New Orleans Arts District Association, Downtown Development District, Cathedral Creative Studios
What:	Jammin’ on Julia - Social a Go-Go! presented by the Downtown Development District. The festival is a fundraiser for the New Orleans Arts District Association. Five blocks of Julia Street will be closed for this street festival with two music stages and food, beverage, and merchandise vendors from some of the innovative businesses in New Orleans.
When:	Saturday, April 7, 2012 12-9pm, with a multi-media after party from 9pm - 12am at Cathedral Studios.
Where:	Julia Street from St. Charles St. to Commerce St.
Why:	To raise money for the New Orleans Arts District Association, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization whose mission is to promote the city as a visual arts destination. To showcase and promote the city’s finest artists, musicians, and fashion designers to create a social media festival that engages the entire city.

Event is free and open to the public.

After party general admission costs $10; access to VIP area costs $75.

Witness the digital emergence of New Orleans culture as Jammin’ on Julia - Social à Go-Go! brings together the city’s finest artists, musicians and fashion designers to create a social media festival that engages the entire city. This year, the event has grown from a three hour function to an all-day event.

“In the long history of humankind those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed,” stated Charles Darwin. As evident of the impact of social media throughout the world, this year we will unify cornerstones of New Orleans culture by expanding their social reach.

The New Orleans Arts District anticipates over 30,000 people will fill Julia Street this year. Jammin’ on Julia - Social à Go-Go! will create an artistic aura that will radiate from Julia Street, attracting locals from all corners of the city.

Join us on April 7th at noon, where you will witness the rebirth of everything that is New Orleans. Though the festivities ends at 9:00 PM, the after party will continue into the night.
